Add AI Summaries to Notion Pages from Comments

Every hour, this lists pages in a Notion database, reads their comments and writes an AI summary property using Gemini or Claude.

What it does

## Adapt this template to your needs 1. Instead of using a cron that runs every hour, use Notion webhooks to retrigger the automation when a new comment is added (and run it only on the pages that received a new comment). It's easier to do with a Cloud n8n. 2. Play around with the prompt to get something short/longer, more action oriented, etc. 3. If the AI summary has been erased by mistake, make sure the automation will re-fill it. 4. Reduce what is passed to the AI model to reduce the tokens consumption (e.g. to keep only the plain text version of the comments)

The steps

  1. Google Gemini Chat Model
  2. Run every hour
  3. Define your Notion Database
  4. List database pages
  5. List comments
  6. Only keep pages that received new comments since last execut
  7. Summarize conversation
  8. Add summary to Notion page and update last execution date
