Transcribe podcast RSS episodes to Google Docs with Apify Whisper

On a schedule, it creates or processes media using Google Docs, RSS, Apify.

What it does

## Transcribe new podcast episodes to Google Docs Who it's for: podcasters, researchers, content and marketing teams who want searchable transcripts of shows they follow or publish. How it works 1. Once a day, the workflow reads the podcast's RSS feed. 2. Episodes that were already transcribed in an earlier run are skipped, so you only pay once per episode. 3. Each new episode's audio file is sent to the Audio Transcription actor on Apify (Whisper), which returns the full text, timed segments and SRT subtitles. 4. A Google Doc is created per episode in your folder, with the title, publish date and transcript. Set up (5 minutes) 1. Open Settings and paste your podcast's RSS feed URL. You can also set how many recent episodes to check and the Google Drive folder ID. 2. Create an Apify account (free tier available), copy your API token from Console > Settings > Integrations, and add a *Header Auth* credential named Apify API token with name Authorization and value Bearer YOUR_TOKEN. Select it on the two Apify nodes. 3. Connect your Google Docs credential on the two Google Docs nodes. 4. Run once manually, then activate. Requirements: Apify account. Transcription is billed by Apify at about $0.006 per audio minute, so a 30-minute episode costs about $0.18. You also need a Google account. Customize: switch model to small for accented or noisy audio ($0.012/min), set language, or replace Google Docs with Notion, Slack or a vector store. *Disclosure: the transcription actor is built by the template author.*
